Telekom Baskets Bonn got to the winning start of their FIBA Intercontinental Cup campaign. They dismantled Al Manama in the opener in Singapore. Sam Griesel (200-G/F-2000, college: Nebraska) scored 28 points to lead the German side.
Bonn recorded a 26-16 lead after ten minutes. The European side went on a 24-6 rally in the second frame to secure a 50-22 halftime lead. Bonn used a strong 34-11 rally in the third term to clear off for good. Glynn Watson Jr. (183-PG-1997, college: Nebraska) provided 15 points, while Savion Flagg (201-G/F-1999, college: SHSU, agency: Green Sports Management) and Harald Frey (188-PG-1997, college: Montana St.) tossed in 11 points apiece in the victory. Sir'Dominic Pointer (198-G/F-1992, college: St.John's) replied with 14 points, while Ahmed Haji (175-PG-1994) had 12 points for Manama.
