Fujitsu RW - Toyota B SR 72-57

Fujitsu RW held off Toyota B SR to advance into the semifinal stage. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Fujitsu RW made 7 blocks. The former international power forward Monica Okoye (182-99) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks. International point guard Rui Machida (162-93) contributed with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Four Fujitsu RW players scored in double figures. Swingman Nanako Todo (175-0) replied with 20 points and 9 rebounds and the former international Yuki Kato (179-97) added 12 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Toyota B SR.

Denso Iris toppled Mitsubishi Kougars to seal their semifinal berth. Denso Iris made 16-of-18 charity shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Denso Iris outrebounded Mitsubishi K. 47-33 including a 19-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. The former international center Maki Takada (183-89) had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international forward Sanae Motokawa (176-92) chipped in 19 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals during the contest. The former international swingman Aya Watanabe (169-92) responded with 22 points and the former international power forward Yuka Kosuge (181-91) scored 9 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
