35-year old American center Nigel Spikes (208-C-1989) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Ehime Orange Vikings and receives a Hoops Agents B2 League Player of the Week award for round 8.
He had a double-double of 22 points and 19 rebounds, while his team was edged out by Fukui B. (#3, 6-3) 71-69. Orange Vikings maintains the 6th position in their group in the Japanese B2 League. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked such low. They already lost 8 games and recorded just one victory. It's Spikes' second year at Orange Vikings and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Marshall University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Spikes leads league in rebounds with 12.3rpg. Spikes is in league's top in and averages solid 2.1bpg,2.2spg and 53.6% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Matt Haarms (221-C-1997) of top-ranked Kagoshima Rebnise. He is Dutch center in his first season at Kagoshima. In the last game Haarms recorded an impressive 22 points and 9 rebounds. Of course Kagoshima cruised to a 75-63 relatively comfortable win over slightly lower-ranked Kobe S. (#3, 5-4). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the top position in West. Kagoshima consolidated its place in the very top position of the standings. His team lost just one game this season, while they won 8 matches. Haarms is a newcomer at Kagoshima and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Terrance Woodbury (203-G-1987) of league's second-best Shinshu Brave Warriors Nagano. Woodbury scored 26 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. He was a key player of Brave Warriors, leading his team to a 93-80 easy win against the lower-ranked Fukushima (#7, 2-7). Shinshu needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in East. Their record at this point is 7 victories and 2 lost games. Woodbury has a great season in Japan. After only 9 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 19.2ppg (3rd best). He also has a FGP of 54.4% and 3PT: 49.0%. Woodbury attended one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball.
