April Sykes

Homentmen Antelias (WLBL) strengthened their roster with addition of 27-year old American ex-international swingman April Sykes (182-85kg-90, college: Rutgers). She played last summer at Mieleras in Mexican LNBPF. In 13 games she was the best scorer with impressive 25.2ppg and had 8.8rpg (#5 in the league) and 2.1apg in 2016 season. Sykes helped them to win the LNBPF title (twice). Great season indeed as she was selected Latinbasket.com All-Mexican LNBPF Player of the Year, Import Player of the Year and Guard of the Year.

In 2012 she was drafted by Los Angeles Sparks (WNBA) in third round (28th overall).

Sykes attended Rutgers, The State University. It will be her sixth season in pro basketball.

She was also a member of USA international program for some years. Sykes played for USA Senior National Team back in 2011 and previously for University National Team in 2011.

She represented USA at the Panamerican Games in Guadalajara (Mexico) six years ago. Her stats at that event were 3 games: 9.0ppg, 4.7rpg, 1.3apg, FGP: 61.5%, 3PT: 22.2%, FT: 83.3%.

Sykes is quite experienced player. Thanks to her pro career she managed to play on three different continents (Europe, Australia and of course North America) in four different countries. Sykes has played previously professionally in Australia (Sydney Uni Flames), Germany (ChemCats Chemnitz), Israel (Hapoel Rishon Le Zion) and WNBA (Phoenix Mercury).
