SANI SAKAKINI

Defending champion Ahli Shabab Dubai (D1) agreed terms with 29-year old Palestinian ex-international center Sani Sakakini (204-100kg-88). He started the season at Guangzhou Long-Lions in Chinese CBA league. In 37 games he had very impressive stats: 21.2ppg, 11.7rpg, 2.2apg and 1.3spg this season. Sakakini ended the last season at Trotamundos in Venezuelan LPB where in 7 games he recorded 15.0ppg, 7.7rpg and 1.9apg. But the most of that year he spent at Gold Lions (also in CBA). In 35 games he averaged remarkable 24.0ppg, 13.3rpg, 2.0apg and 1.0spg.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others Sakakini was voted Asia-Basket.com All-Chinese CBA Honorable Mention in 2016 and 2017.
He also represented Palestine at the Asian Championships in Changsha-Hunan (China) three years ago. His stats at that event were 8 games: Score-1 (22.4ppg), Reb-1 (12.6rpg), 2.4apg, 1.5spg, FGP: 46.2%, 3PT: 20.0%, FT: 67.9%.
Sakakini has played also professionally in Jordan (Orthodox), Lebanon (Champville and Hoops Club) and China (Blue Whales, Eagles, Monkey Kings and Fly Dragons).
