CHRIS JOHNSON

Homenetmen Beirut (LBL) signed 33-year old American power forward Chris Johnson (210-107kg-85, college: LSU). He played last season at Cedevita in Croatian Premijer Liga. Johnson managed to play in three leagues last year. In 16 Premijer Liga games he had 9.6ppg, 5.4rpg, 1.6apg and 1.3bpg. He helped them to make it to the semifinals. Johnson also played 13 games in Eurocup where he recorded 3.0ppg and 2.7rpg. And finally he contributed to 19 games in ABA League where he averaged 3.8ppg and 2.6rpg. In summer 2017 Johnson has played with Anhui Wenyi (NBL) in Chinese league, he averaged 30.7ppg, Reb-3 (15.9rpg), 1.8apg, 1.6spg, 1.7bpg, FGP: 62.2%, 3PT: 37.7%, FT: 83.7% in 29 games.
In 2010 (a year after he left the college) Johnson was drafted by Dakota Wizards (D-League) in first round (9th overall).
The former Louisiana State University standoutis in his tenth season in pro basketball.
Johnson has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2016.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others he played in the final of Chinese NBL in 2017. Johnson was also voted Asia-Basket.com All-Chinese NBL 2nd Team in 2017.
He is quite experienced player. Johnson has played in six different countries on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America and of course North America). He has played previously professionally in Dominican Rep., Poland, Puerto Rico (Capitanes), Turkey (Turk Telekom), NBA (Cleveland Cavaliers, Portland Trail Blazers and Minnesota Timberwolves) and NBA G League (Santa Cruz Warriors).
Johnson could be described: a truly gifted and unique physical specimen who at 6'11 is as mobile and explosive as most SFs. Great motor on every possession combined with his length and explosiveness make Chris a tremendous shot-blocker, rebounder and defender. Skilled offensive player who excels with space on pick and pop, face up, slashing and put back possessions. A game changer on both ends of the floor!.
