US Monastir signs Wael Arakji, ex Al Shamal

Wael Arakji

U.S. Monastir (ProA) signed 26-year old Lebanese international guard Wael Arakji (194cm-85kg). He started the season at Al Shamal in Qatari D1 league. In 14 games he had very impressive stats: 26.4ppg, 6.0rpg, 5.5apg and 1.7spg. Arakji helped them to make it to the final. 2020-2021 was a great season as he was named to Asia-Basket.com All-Qatar D1 1st Team, All-Imports Team and League Player of the Week. The last season he played at Al Riyadi (LBL) in Lebanon where in two games he recorded 10.0ppg, 2.0rpg and 4.0apg.
He has been also a member of Lebanese international program for some years. Arakji has regularly played for Lebanese senior team since 2015 and previously for U18 National Team between 2011 and 2012.
He also represented Lebanon at the FIBA Asia Champions Cup Winner four years ago. Arakji's team won Gold and his stats at that event were 5 games: 16.4ppg, 4.4rpg, 3.8apg, 2.0spg, FGP: 62.8%, 3PT: 42.9%, FT: 55.6%.
Arakji has played previously professionally in China (Royal Fighters) and NBA Summer League (Dallas Mavericks).
Arakji won Qatari League championship title in 2020.
