Viacheslav Kravtsov (ex Menorca) joins Steelers- December 25, 2022
He has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2015. Kravtsov has been also a member of Ukrainian international program for some years. He has regularly played for Ukrainian senior team since 2006 and previously for U21 National Team back in 2006. Kravtsov represented Ukraine at the European Championships (FIBA EuroBasket) five years ago. His stats at that event were 5 games: 7.2ppg, 3.8rpg, 1.0bpg, FGP: 37.5%, FT: 75.0%. He is quite experienced player. Kravtsov's career allowed him to visit three different continents, while he played in eight different countries. Kravtsov tasted the life as pro basketball player in Europe, Asia and of course North America. He has played previously professionally in China (Long Lions), Japan (San-en NeoPhoenix), Russia (PBC CSKA Moscow), Saudi Arabia (Ohod), Turkey (Eskisehir Basket), NBA (Detroit Pistons, Milwaukee Bucks and Phoenix Suns), Spain (Valencia, Burgos, Fuenlabrada and Zaragoza) and Ukraine (Dnipro, BC Kyiv, BC Donetsk and Kyiv-Vovcha). His team won Ukrainian Superleague Regular Season in 2007, 2008 and 2011. Kravtsov was voted to Ukrainian All-Star Game back in 2009 and 2010. On Kravtsov: One of the top shot-blocker in Europe who plays very hard and can bang with any opponent. More than just a 7-footer with an NBA body, though, Kravtsov possesses outstanding athleticism on top of that to complete a very intriguing physical profile. He runs the floor extremely well, moves laterally quickly and fluidly, and is absolutely explosive around the basket, looking capable of tearing down the rim every time he goes up to finish. Kravtsov's also quick off his feet to contest or block shots, giving him virtually everything you could ask for physically from a player his size. Good passing ability for a center. He has a decent shooting touch and can hit the shot from and around the paint with consistency. Kravtsov does not have a very developed offensive creation though. His low post skills could use some work. Defensively, he shows a good activity level and has the great lateral quickness and strength to be a great one-on-one defender in the post or from the midrange.
