We bring you last week's top former Falcons players who are currently playing in pro basketball.

#1. Demajeo Wiggins, a 6'10'' center/forward who graduated from BGSU in 2019 and received the All-MAC Second Team award that year, currently plays professionally in Croatia. In a recent game, Wiggins, despite his commendable performance, was unable to lead Split (25-8) to victory as they were narrowly defeated 78-76 on the road by the second-ranked Cibona. Wiggins showcased his skills by scoring 13 points and grabbing 9 rebounds in 30 minutes of play, making him the second-best scorer for Split in that game. During the match against Cibona, Wiggins displayed his versatility by contributing 13 points, 9 rebounds, and 2 assists. Despite his notable efforts, his team fell short of securing the win. Throughout the season, Wiggins has maintained solid statistics, averaging 10.3 points per game, 6.1 rebounds per game (ranking fourth in the league), and 1.7 assists per game in the 22 games he has played so far. His consistent performance on the court highlights his value as a key player for Split in the Croatian league.

#2. Lebanese champion Youssef Khayat, a 23-year-old forward standing at 6'9'' and an alumni of the Falcons from 2025, is currently playing professionally in Lebanon. In a recent game, Khayat, who was named to the Asia-Basket.com Arab Club Championship All-Asians Team in 2025, showcased an outstanding performance despite his team, Sagesse (18-4), falling short against the top-ranked Al Riyadi with a final score of 86-94 in a closely fought derby match. During the game, Khayat demonstrated his skills by scoring 25 points, securing 8 rebounds, and contributing 4 assists while impressively making all twelve of his free throws, all within 39 minutes of play. This remarkable performance is especially noteworthy as it is Khayat's first season in professional basketball. The loss to Al Riyadi marked Sagesse's first defeat following a streak of eight consecutive victories, making every remaining game crucial as the Regular Season draws to a close. Khayat's debut year with the team has been marked by stellar individual achievements, with impressive averages of 20.9 points, 9.3 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and 1.2 steals per game over the course of 19 games. Despite the recent setback, Khayat's exceptional contributions on the court have undoubtedly made him a standout player in his rookie season as he continues to make his mark in professional basketball.

#3. Leon Ayers III, a 6'5'' guard who graduated from BGSU in 2023 and received an All-MAC Honorable Mention award, currently plays professionally in Portugal. In a recent game, Ayers III, despite his very good performance, could not lead Oliveirense (12-10) to victory as they lost 78-86 at home to the leading team Benfica. Ayers III stood out as the top scorer of the game with 20 points and also contributed 3 assists in just 24 minutes of play, showcasing his skills in his third season of professional basketball. His impressive performance against Benfica included not only scoring but also grabbing 2 rebounds and providing 3 assists. Despite his efforts, Oliveirense fell short of securing the win. Throughout this season, Ayers III has maintained relatively good statistics, averaging 12.9 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game in the 19 games he has played so far. His consistent performance on the court demonstrates his potential to continue excelling as a champion player in the future.

#4. British champion Jason Spurgin, a 6'11'' center and 24-year-old Falcons alumnus from 2024, showcased his skills as he led the Sutherland Sharks to a resounding 102-80 victory over the 15th-ranked Panthers in the Australian NBL One, the second division of the league, during Sunday night's game. In an impressive display, Spurgin scored 23 points, grabbed 7 rebounds, and dished out 5 assists in just 22 minutes of play. The Sutherland Sharks, currently placed tenth in the East group with a 5-5 record, owe much of their recent success to Spurgin's stellar performance. His remarkable contributions were pivotal in guiding the team to victory, ultimately securing their position as the champions of the match. Spurgin's outstanding season continues to flourish, boasting impressive averages of 20.7 points, 10.6 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game over seven games. Noteworthy is the fact that Spurgin holds both American and British citizenship, allowing him the flexibility to play as a domestic player in the United Kingdom if he chooses to do so in the future.

#5. In a recent game, Wes Alcegaire, a 31-year-old 6'6'' forward who graduated from BGSU in 2017 and currently plays professionally in Paraguay, led his team, San Jose, to a decisive 95-85 victory over the fifth-ranked Amambay in the Paraguayan LNB. Alcegaire showcased his talent by scoring 12 points, grabbing 4 rebounds, and dishing out 2 assists in just 27 minutes of play. This outstanding performance contributed significantly to his team's success, marking their tenth consecutive win in a row. San Jose Asuncion, Alcegaire's team, is currently holding the top spot in the league with a record of 12-1. Alcegaire's remarkable statistics this season include averaging 11.7 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game over seven games. His consistent contributions on the court have solidified his reputation as a champion player. As a naturalized American, Alcegaire continues to excel in the Paraguayan league, showcasing his skills and leading his team to victory. With only one more game left in the Regular Season, the upcoming match holds critical importance for Alcegaire and his team as they strive to maintain their position as finalists in the league.

#6. Cuban Marlon Sierra, a 28-year-old former Falcons alumni from 2020 standing at an impressive 6'7'' and playing as a forward/center in the TBL, recently showcased his skills for the Glass City Wranglers. In their latest game against the Griffins, despite Sierra's stellar performance, the Wranglers, ranked at #5, suffered a crushing defeat of 138-96 in St. Louis. Sierra displayed an exceptional performance on the court, securing a double-double by scoring 18 points, grabbing 17 rebounds, and contributing 3 assists during his 37 minutes of play. His remarkable individual effort against the Griffins did not go unnoticed, as his impressive performance earned him the coveted Triple-Double Badge from eurobasket.com, further solidifying his reputation as a champion player. Throughout the season, Sierra has maintained relatively strong statistics, averaging 12.0 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 1.1 assist per game across 17 appearances. It is also noteworthy that Sierra holds dual American and Cuban citizenship, allowing him to play in Cuba as a domestic player, showcasing his versatility and international appeal as a standout finalist in the world of basketball.

#7. Jamaican Trey Thomas, a 6'0'' point guard who is 25 years old and graduated from BGSU in 2025, showcased his skills as a professional player in Canada. He played a pivotal role in the Scarborough Shooting Stars' narrow 106-104 victory over the Surge in a recent Canadian Elite Basketball League match. Thomas delivered an outstanding performance by scoring 20 points and distributing 4 assists in just 26 minutes on the court. In another notable game against Calgary, Thomas once again displayed his talent by contributing 20 points, 2 rebounds, and 4 assists, leading his team to victory as the champion of the game. Throughout this season, Thomas has been averaging 9.6 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game over five appearances. It is interesting to note that Thomas holds both American and Jamaican citizenship, allowing him to play in Jamaica as a domestic player.
