#1. Experienced Michael Lay (5'11''-G-84, graduated '06, plays pro in Australia) could not help Southwest Slammers (2-14) in their game last Saturday. Despite his very good performance his team were defeated 91-79 on the road by the leading Lightning in the SBL group. Lay recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points and getting 10 rebounds. He also added 7 assists in 38 minutes. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. Lay has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages 20.3ppg, 5.3rpg, 5.9apg and 2.8spg.
#2. Drew Martin (6'8''-F-94, graduated '17, plays in Argentina) managed to help Bahia Basket in a victory against the league outsider Atenas (10-23) 79-69 in the Argentinian La Liga in Wednesday night's game. He recorded only one point. Bahia Basket (12-20) is placed 14th in the La Liga. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. This year Martin averages 4.4ppg and 3.3rpg in 23 games he played so far.
#3. Haize Walker (6'2''-G-99, graduated '19, currently in New Zealand) was not able to help Manawatu Jets in their game against Giants (2-1) in the New Zealand NBL. It was not Walker's best game last Friday. He scored only 2 points in 7 minutes on the court. The bottom-ranked Manawatu Jets were defeated 99-94 in Stoke by the higher-ranked Giants (#4). So far Manawatu Jets lost all three games in the Regular Season. But the season just started, so everything may happen. This year Walker averages 2.0ppg, 2.0rpg and 2.3apg.
#4. Bryan Michaels (6'3''-G/F-96, graduated '18, plays pro in New Zealand) contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Rangers (1-3) 84-68 in the New Zealand NBL on Saturday night. He scored only 3 points. It was his first game for Southern Huskies this season. His team are placed fifth in the NBL. But the season is still in it's first stage and everything can happen.
