History:Is the Indonesia Muda Basket Ball Jakarta team which plays in the national basketball league (“IBL”) under the name of ‘Indonesia Muda Star’. Indonesia Muda Basket Ball Jakarta club (“IMBBJ”) was founded in September 1958 as a social and sport club by several forward-thinking founders of the Republic of Indonesia. The founders intention was to enhance the development of sports and art education for the Indonesian young generation. In 1995, the team was sponsored by Texmaco and became ‘IM TEXMACO’ team. Texmaco provided the financing until the year 2000. Starting February 2001, IMBBJ survived to undergo the 2001 Kobatama competition without any sponsor, it was ended up by achieving 6th rank from total 10 teams who competes at the Kobatama. The IM STAR team is now replacing the previous IM Kobatama team since October 2001. Realizing that the competition in the IBL is getting tighter, the management realized that IM Star team needs more professional management and more funding to be more competitive in the IBL. New teams with funding from large corporations are dominating the competition. The new management structure of PT. IM Corpora brings improvement in its team performances through its funding system, and marketing commercial value of the team. |
