#1. Australian basketball player Sebastian Griffin, standing at 6'3" and aged 24, graduated from Mayville St. in 2023 where he played a pivotal role in helping them secure the North Star Regular Season Champion title that year. Griffin currently competes professionally in Australia. Recently, he represented Sturt Sabres but unfortunately couldn't lead them to victory against the South Adelaide Panthers in the Australian NBL One, the second division league. In the game, Griffin contributed 7 points, 4 rebounds, and played for 22 minutes. The Sturt Sabres, who were at the top with a record of 9-1, were convincingly defeated 103-79 by the South Adelaide Panthers, ranked third in the Central group. This loss marked the first defeat for the Sturt Sabres after a streak of nine consecutive wins. Despite Griffin's commendable performance, where he scored 7 points, secured 4 rebounds, and provided 1 assist against South Adelaide Panthers, his team fell short of victory. In the current season, Griffin maintains an average of 7.6 points, 5.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 1.8 steals per game over the ten games he has played so far.
#2. Australian Jack Turnbull, a 6'3'' guard/forward who is 29 years old and an alumnus of the Comets from 2019, has been a key player in the Australian pro league. He currently plays alongside his teammate, the previously mentioned Sebastian Griffin, and the two recently showcased their skills in the latest Australian NBL One game. Despite Turnbull's best efforts, he was unable to lead the Sturt Sabres (9-1) to a victory against the South Adelaide Panthers (8-2). In the game, Turnbull managed to contribute 5 points in just 3 minutes of play. The Sturt Sabres, who were at the top of the standings with a 9-1 record, suffered a significant 103-79 defeat on the road against the third-ranked South Adelaide Panthers in the Central group. This season marks Turnbull's seventh year with the team, demonstrating his dedication and commitment to the organization. Although he scored 5 points against South Adelaide Panthers, Turnbull's team fell short of securing a win in the game. Throughout the season, he has maintained an average of 4.0 points per game in the three games played so far.
