#1. Aegir Steinarsson (6'1''-PG-1991, played in 2012-13, plays pro in Iceland) led Stjarnan to a victory over the closely-ranked Keflavik (2-2) 87-81 in the Icelandic Subway League in Thursday night's game. He was MVP of the game. Steinarsson recorded 32 points (!!!) and added 6 passes in 36 minutes. Stjarnan (2-2) is placed sixth in the Subway League. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. It's Steinarsson's first year with the team. He has individually a very good season with high stats. Steinarsson averages 27.3ppg, 6.8rpg and 8.5apg in four games he played so far.
#2. Guillermo Ruiz (6'3''-PG-1995, played in 2013-14, plays in Spain) was the main contributor in Alcobendas' victory against the seventh-ranked Talavera (3-2) 80-70 in the Spanish EBA (fourth division) last Saturday. He was MVP of the game. Ruiz recorded 16 points, 4 rebounds and 2 blocks. Italtel Alcobendas (4-1) is placed second in Group B-A. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. But the season just started, so everything may happen. It's Ruiz's first year with the team. This season he averages 8.7ppg, 3.3rpg, 2.0apg, 1.3bpg and 1.7spg.
