Currently playing professionally in Spain, Mills recently showcased his skills for La Laguna Tenerife (18-16) in a game last Friday. Despite his commendable performance, Tenerife suffered an 87-82 defeat on the road against the higher-ranked Surne Bilbao (#7). Mills emerged as the second-highest scorer of the game, contributing 13 points and making 3 assists in just 18 minutes of play. As Tenerife has only one more game left in the Regular Season, the upcoming match holds significant importance for the team. In the recent match against Bilbao, Mills displayed his talent by scoring 13 points and providing 3 assists. Despite his remarkable efforts, Tenerife was unable to secure the victory. Throughout the season, Mills has consistently excelled with impressive statistics, averaging 17.5 points per game, ranking him as the third-best scorer in the league, along with 1.4 assists per game.
#2. Mitchell Saxen, a 24-year-old center standing at 6'10'' and an alumnus of Gaels from 2025, currently plays professional basketball in France. Recently, he showcased his skills in a thrilling match where Nanterre 92, the team he plays for, emerged victorious against league leaders Monaco with a score of 98-89 in the French Betclic ELITE. In this highly anticipated game between two top 4 ranked teams, Saxen displayed his prowess by achieving a double-double, scoring 10 points and securing an impressive 15 rebounds in just 26 minutes of play. His remarkable performance was instrumental in guiding Nanterre 92 to triumph. Saxen's exceptional abilities on the court not only helped his team secure the win but also reinforced his reputation as a formidable champion. Throughout the season, Saxen has been maintaining solid statistics, averaging 4.7 points per game and 5.9 rebounds per game. This season marks Barrett's first with the team, where he has been averaging 10.0 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game.
#4. Estonian Matthias Tass, a 27-year-old forward/center standing at 6'10'' and an alumnus of Gaels from 2022 where he received the All-WCC First Team award, is currently playing professionally in Poland. Recently, he played a crucial role in Legia Warszawa's 91-78 victory over the fifth-ranked Dziki with his impressive performance in the Polish Orlen Basket Liga. Tass scored 7 points, grabbed 3 rebounds, and dished out 2 assists in 23 minutes of play, showcasing his versatility on the court. Australian Lucas Walker, a 6'8'' forward, who is 41 years old and an alumnus of SMC (graduated in 2009), showcased his skills on the court as he helped lead the Sutherland Sharks to victory against the 15th-ranked Panthers with a dominant 102-80 win in the Australian NBL One, which is the second division of Australian basketball, on Sunday night. Despite only scoring 2 points in 9 minutes of play, Walker's contribution was crucial in securing the win for his team and ultimately earning them the champion title of the game. #10. Paul Marigney, a 6'3'' guard and Gaels alumnus from the class of 2005, showcased his basketball prowess in a recent game in the Ecuadorian Liga Nacional de Baloncesto. The 43-year-old standout, who received the All-WCC Team award during his college years, currently plays professionally in Ecuador. In a thrilling match, Marigney led Alvarado to a decisive 86-76 victory over the league leaders, Piratas, on Tuesday night. His exceptional performance on the court earned him the MVP title for the game. During the game, Marigney displayed his skills by scoring an impressive 26 points and grabbing 13 rebounds, all while maintaining a perfect free-throw record of eight out of eight attempts, in his 36 minutes of playtime.
