#1. Ghanian Prince Oduro, a 27-year-old forward standing at 6'8'' and a graduate of Detroit in 2022, currently plays professionally in Canada. In a recent Canadian Elite Basketball League matchup, Oduro, a key player for the Brampton Honey Badgers, helped secure a crucial 82-80 victory over the Alliance with a stellar performance. He notched 10 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 blocks in just 26 minutes on the court, showcasing his versatility and impact in the game. Despite the Brampton Honey Badgers holding a somewhat modest 5-1 record this season, Oduro's contributions have been instrumental in their success. His team's recent win marked their fifth consecutive victory, highlighting their strong momentum early in the season. As Oduro's first year with the team, his seamless integration and impressive statistics, averaging 5.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per game, have further solidified his position as a valuable asset. Notably, Oduro's standout performance against Montreal, where he scored 10 points and secured 7 rebounds, was pivotal in his team's triumph, ultimately leading them to be crowned as the champion. It is remarkable to mention that Oduro holds dual American and Ghanian citizenship, allowing him to play in Ghana as a domestic player, showcasing his international versatility and talent on the basketball court. As the season progresses, Oduro's skillset and dedication will undoubtedly continue to elevate the Brampton Honey Badgers' quest for success in the league.
#2. Canadian champion Cole Long, a 6'7'' small forward aged 29 and a Titans alumnus from 2019, currently playing professionally in Canada, unfortunately could not lead the Niagara River Lions (2-3) to victory in their recent game. Despite Long's commendable effort, the Niagara (#4) suffered a 100-110 defeat on the road at the hands of the Bandits. Long managed to score 11 points in just 14 minutes of play. In a previous game against Vancouver, Long showcased a strong performance by contributing 11 points and securing 3 rebounds. However, despite his standout efforts, his team ultimately fell short and lost the game. Throughout this season, Long has been averaging 7.4 points per game and 2.2 rebounds per game in the five games he has participated in so far.
