Courtesy of Eurobasket LLC Here is the weekly review of the top performing Vandals alumni, who are currently playing in pro basketball.
#1. Victor Sanders (6'5''-SG-1995, played in 2014-18, plays pro in Russia) could not help one of league's weakest teams Parma-Pari (5-4) in their last game. Despite his good performance Parma-Pari was edged88-87 at home by the higher-ranked (#6) Uralmash. Sanders scored 12 points and added 4 assists in 35 minutes. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. Sanders has relatively good stats this year 12.4ppg, 3.1rpg, 3.7apg and 1.7spg in nine games he played so far.
#2. Michaelyn Scott (6'0''-PG-1993, played in 2013-15, plays in Romania) was the major contributor in a 2-point Targu Mures' victory against the eighth-ranked Dinamo Bucuresti (4-4) 91-89 in the Romanian Liga Nationala on Saturday night. Scott recorded 17 points and added 6 assists. CS Municipal Targu Mures (2-0) is placed second in the Liga Nationala. Scott has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages 18.1ppg, 3.0rpg, 4.4apg and 1.4spg.
#3. Trevon Allen (6'2''-PG-1998, played in 2016-20, currently in Kosovo) was not able to help Ylli in their game against Trepca (0-5) in the Kosovan Superliga, despite his very good performance in Saturday night's game. He was the top scorer with 24 points in 39 minutes. But Ylli was edged67-65 on the road by the one of league's weakest teams (#7) Trepca. The Regular Season already ended. It's Allen's first season with the team. Allen has very impressive stats this year 19.2ppg, 4.0rpg and 1.6apg in five games.
#4. Arkadiy Mkrtychyan (6'9''-F-1995, played in 2014-18, plays pro in Armenia) contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Artik (1-1) crushing them 91-68 in the Armenian A-League last Sunday. He recorded 6 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Urartu V-bet Yerevan (2-0) is placed first in the A-League. The Regular Season already ended. This season Mkrtychyan averages 6.5ppg and 7.0rpg. Mkrtychyan is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market.
