#1. Carlton Linguard Jr., a 7'0'' center who recently graduated from USF in 2025, is currently playing professionally in Holland. In Groningen's recent game against ZZ Leiden, Linguard Jr. showcased his skills by scoring 10 points and grabbing 2 rebounds in just 19 minutes of play. Despite his strong performance, Groningen suffered a tough 91-71 defeat on the road against the lower-ranked ZZ Leiden. This marked Linguard Jr.'s first season with the team. Throughout the season, he has been averaging 6.5 points and 3.5 rebounds per game in the four games he has played so far. Linguard Jr. has been a standout player for Groningen, demonstrating his potential to become a future champion in the league.
#2. Australian Joshua Kunen, a 25-year-old power forward standing at 6'8'' and a proud alumnus of the Dons class of 2024, showcased his skills playing professionally in Australia. In a recent Australian NBL One game, Kunen was a key player for the Dandenong Rangers as they secured a significant 97-88 victory against the 17th-ranked United team with a 3-11 record. Kunen's stellar performance included scoring 7 points, grabbing 10 rebounds, and providing 1 assist in 34 minutes of play, ultimately leading his team to triumph. This exceptional display earned him the title of champion of the game. The Dandenong Rangers, currently placed fifth in the South group with a 9-6 record, benefitted greatly from Kunen's contributions on the court. In another notable game against Geelong U, Kunen once again stood out by scoring 7 points and securing 10 rebounds, further solidifying his impact as a key player for his team. Throughout the season, Kunen has maintained solid averages of 7.4 points per game, 6.0 rebounds per game, and 1.4 assists per game across 13 games, showcasing his consistent performance and valuable presence on the court.
#3. Australian champion Matthew McCarthy, a 6'9'' guard, is a 29-year-old standout player who graduated from FGCU in 2019. He also had a successful stint at USF between 2015 and 2019, earning the prestigious WCC All-Academic Team award during that time. McCarthy currently showcases his skills as a professional player in Australia. Recently, McCarthy displayed his talent on the court when he competed for the Waverley Falcons (5-7) against the Braves (6-7) in the Australian NBL One, the second division league. Despite his efforts, McCarthy's team fell short, losing 84-91 to the higher-ranked (#12) Braves in the South group. McCarthy himself contributed 7 points and 4 rebounds in 22 minutes of play, putting up a commendable performance against the Braves. Throughout the season, McCarthy has maintained solid statistics, averaging 12.3 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game in the 12 games he has played so far. His dedication and skills make him a valuable asset to his team, even in the face of tough competition like the Braves.
