Shanxi Loongs (CBA) cut experienced 36-year old Russian ex-international 198cm shooting guard Alexey Shved. In 5 CBA games he averaged 6.4ppg, 2.4rpg and 4.4apg this season.
He has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2014.
He was also a member of the Russian international program for some years. Shved played for Russian Senior National Team between 2009 and 2018 and previously for the Under 20 National Team back in 2008.
He also represented Russia at the FIBA World Cup 2019 Qualifiers five years ago. Shved's team got to the Semifinals and he had 19 points per game.
Shved has played also in Russia (PBC CSKA Moscow, Dynamo Moscow, Khimki and CSKA-Junior), NBA (Houston Rockets, NY Knicks, Philadelphia 76ers and Minnesota Timberwolves) and Russia. He was also voted to Asia-Basket.com All-Chinese CBA Honorable Mention in 2024.
His team won VTB Supercup in 2022.
