Rayvonte Rice (ex Taichung Suns) signs at Sagesse

Sagesse - Al Hekmeh Beirut (LBL) landed 31-year old American 193cm guard Rayvonte Rice (college: Illinois) for new season. He played most recently at Taichung Suns in Taiwanese T1 League. In 19 games he was the best scorer with impressive 29.7ppg and recorded 7.1rpg, 3.5apg and 2.5spg (in top 3) last season. He helped them to make it to the semifinals. Good season as he was voted League Player of the Week and selected to Asia-basket.com All-Taiwanese T1 League Second Team. Rice also played for Honey Badgers in Canadian league that season where in two BCL Americas games he averaged remarkable 19.0ppg, 4.0rpg and 3.0apg.
He has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2015.
Rice is a very experienced player. And here thanks to pro basketball he experienced life in eleven different countries playing on four different continents. He is familiar with European, Asian, Latin American and of course North American leagues. Rice has played previously professionally in France (Aix Maurienne), Greece (AEK Athens and Ionikos), Iran (Petrochimi), Israel (Hapoel Eilat and Ironi Nes Ziona), Italy (Verona, Jesi and Ravenna), Japan (Kyoto Hannaryz), Mexico (Soles), Russia (Avtodor), NBA G League (SLC Stars), Dominican Republic (Indios) and NBA Summer League (Phoenix Suns). He was also voted to All-Big Ten Honorable Mention back in 2014 and 2015.
His college team made it to the Italian Serie A2 Cup final in 2018.
Rice graduated from University of Illinois in 2015 and it will be his ninth season in pro basketball. He played also for Drake University for 2 years.
