#1. Jarvis Doles, a 28-year-old forward standing at 6'8'' who graduated from UMBC in 2023 and currently plays professionally in Australia, made a significant impact in a recent game for the Bendigo Braves. He played a key role in the team's victory against the 14th-ranked Falcons with a score of 91-84 in the Australian NBL One, which is the second division of basketball in Australia. In this game, Doles showcased his skills by scoring 8 points, pulling down 8 rebounds, and playing for 34 minutes. The Bendigo Braves, currently positioned 12th in the South group, secured their first win after enduring four consecutive losses, thanks in part to Doles' stellar performance. In another notable game against Waverley F, Doles once again proved his value by contributing 8 points, 8 rebounds, and 1 assist to help his team emerge victorious. His impressive statistics played a crucial role in guiding his team to triumph as the champion. Throughout the season, Doles has been having an exceptional year with remarkable averages of 18.8 points per game and 10.5 rebounds per game in the 13 games he has played so far. Additionally, his participation in the Eurobasket Summer League has been instrumental in helping him secure a professional basketball career.
#2. Puerto Rican Kevin Maura, a 30-year-old point guard standing at 5'8" and an alum of Retrievers from 2018, currently plays professionally in Puerto Rico. Despite his best efforts, Maura, known for his All-AEC Defensive Player of the Year award in 2018, could not lead his team, Mets de Guaynabo (12-12), to victory over the Leones (9-16) in the Puerto Rican Baloncesto Superior Nacional. In a recent game, the fourth-placed Mets de Guaynabo suffered a tough 101-78 loss on the road to the fifth-ranked Leones in Group B, with Maura contributing 5 points in 23 minutes of play. In another game against Ponce, Maura showcased his skills on the court by scoring 5 points, grabbing 1 rebound, and dishing out 2 assists. Despite his solid performance, his team was unable to secure the win. Throughout this season, Maura has been averaging 1.5 points per game across 21 games, demonstrating his consistent presence on the court as he strives to help his team succeed in the league.
#3. Bryce Johnson, a 6'4''-G who is 24 years old and graduated from UMBC in 2025, is currently playing professionally in Australia. Recently, he played a crucial role in the Willetton Tigers' victory over the 13th-ranked Giants with a score of 98-87 in the Australian NBL One, which is the second division of Australian basketball. In the game that took place on Sunday night, Johnson showcased his skills by contributing 10 points in 32 minutes of play. This victory was significant as it marked the Willetton Tigers' first win after suffering three consecutive losses. Johnson's remarkable performance didn't stop there. In a game against Goldfields G, he not only scored 10 points but also secured 2 rebounds and provided 2 assists, demonstrating his versatility on the court. His exceptional display of talent and skill further solidified his status as a champion in the sport. Throughout the season, Johnson has been delivering outstanding performances, reflected in his impressive statistics. He currently holds an average of 15.8 points per game, along with 3.0 rebounds and 2.9 assists in the 12 games he has played so far. Johnson's consistent contribution to the Willetton Tigers' success highlights his prowess as a finalist in the league.
