#1. Austin Crowley, a 25-year-old guard standing at 6'5" who graduated from Southern Miss in 2024 and received the NABC Division I All-District 23 First Team award that year, is currently playing professionally in Germany. Recently, he led his team, Bamberg Baskets, to a significant victory over the closely-ranked ratiopharm Ulm in the German easyCredit BBL. In a game on Saturday night, Bamberg Baskets emerged triumphant with a score of 96-87, with Crowley playing a pivotal role. During the game, Crowley showcased his skills by contributing 11 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists in just 27 minutes of play. His performance was instrumental in securing the win for Bamberg Baskets, who currently hold the third position in the league with a record of 24-10. This victory marked the team's seventh consecutive win, highlighting their impressive form. Throughout the season, Crowley has maintained solid statistics, averaging 10.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.2 steals per game in the 37 games he has played so far. His consistent contributions on both ends of the court have been essential in propelling Bamberg Baskets towards success in the league.
#2. DeAndre Pinckney, a 26-year-old former Golden Eagles alum from 2023, has been making waves in the pro basketball scene in Israel. Recently, he played a crucial role in Maccabi Urban Ramat Gan's thrilling victory over the fifth-ranked Hapoel Holon in the Israeli Winner League. Pinckney, standing at 6'8'' and known for his versatility on the court, showcased his skills by scoring 22 points, grabbing 5 rebounds, handing out 3 assists, and blocking 2 shots in just 31 minutes of playing time. This remarkable performance is particularly noteworthy as he is only in his third season of professional basketball. Maccabi Urban Ramat Gan, currently placed ninth in the league with a record of 10-16, secured a much-needed win thanks to Pinckney's standout efforts. This victory was especially significant as it broke a streak of three consecutive losses for his team. Despite the Regular Season already coming to a close, Pinckney's impact on the court has been undeniable, particularly in his first year with the team. His standout performance against Hapoel Holon highlights his impressive season statistics, with an average of 17.5 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game over four games. Pinckney's contributions have not only elevated his own performance but have also been instrumental in his team's successes, making him a true champion on the court.
#3. Puerto Rican player Andre Curbelo, a 6'0'' guard who recently graduated from Southern Miss in 2025 and now plays professionally in Puerto Rico, had a challenging game with Atleticos de San German (15-8), the top team in the league. Despite his impressive performance, Curbelo couldn't prevent San German from losing 87-94 to the lower-ranked Santeros (#3) in Group A on the road. In the game, Curbelo showcased his skills by scoring 16 points, grabbing 7 rebounds, providing 9 assists, and making 3 steals in 40 minutes of play. This performance is particularly noteworthy as Curbelo is in his debut season in professional basketball. In a previous game against Aguada, he once again demonstrated his talent by contributing significantly with 16 points, 7 rebounds, and 9 assists. However, despite his outstanding individual efforts, his team fell short of securing the victory. Throughout the season, Curbelo has been delivering impressive performances, maintaining high statistics. He currently holds averages of 15.4 points, 6.1 rebounds, 6.7 assists, and 1.5 steals per game over 23 appearances. Curbelo's consistent contributions have positioned him as a standout player in the league this year, showcasing his potential as a future champion in the making.
#4. Puerto Rican Neftali Alvarez, a 6'0'' point guard and 27-year-old Golden Eagles alumni from 2025, played a crucial role in helping his team become the Puerto Rican League Group A Regular Season Champion that year. Currently playing professionally in Puerto Rico, Alvarez recently showcased his skills for Indios de Mayaguez but unfortunately couldn't lead them to victory in their latest game against the Mets in Guaynabo. Despite his outstanding performance, where he was the leading scorer with 23 points in just 24 minutes, Mayaguez suffered a narrow 85-91 defeat, marking their sixth consecutive loss. This season marks Alvarez's debut with the team, and he has been a standout player with impressive statistics. On the court, he demonstrated his talent by scoring 23 points, securing 3 rebounds, and contributing 2 assists in a commendable display against Guaynabo. Despite his individual success, the team was unable to secure a win. Throughout the season, Alvarez has maintained strong averages of 15.5 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.3 steals per game across six matches, highlighting his valuable contributions to the team.
#5. Australian champion Lieb Yat, a 7'0'' center who graduated from Southern Miss in 2025 and currently plays professionally in Australia, recently faced a tough challenge when his team, the Kilsyth Cobras, took on the Raiders in the Australian NBL One. Despite his best efforts, Yat could not lead his team to victory against the formidable opponents. In the game against the Raiders, Yat struggled to make a significant impact, scoring only 3 points in 10 minutes of play. The Kilsyth Cobras, currently ranked ninth in the league with a 7-6 record, were narrowly defeated 96-93 by the third-ranked Raiders in the South group. This loss marked the Cobras' third consecutive defeat. Although Yat managed to contribute 3 points and 1 rebound in a previous game against Knox R., his individual performance was not enough to secure a win for his team. Throughout the season, Yat has been averaging 3.0 points per game and 1.2 rebounds per game in the six games he has played so far. Despite the recent setbacks, Yat remains a determined champion looking to lead his team to success in the upcoming matches.
