Hitech Bangkok are the new ASEAN League champions. They overcame Westports KL Dragons in the second game of the Finals to complete the sweep of the series. Patrick Cabahug (186-G) scored 23 points to lead the winners. KL Dragons had their backs against the wall heading into the game. They started it aggressively taking a 20:15 lead after the opening frame. The Malaysian team maintained the lead throughout the second quarter. KL Dragons ensured a 38:32 halftime lead. But Hitech Bangkok cut the distance in the third term. They shifted the gear and pulled within one point at the final intermission. Hitech Bangkok went on a 19:12 run in the fourth frame and snatched a historic victory at the end. Christien Charles (216-F/C-81, college: Villanova) had 15 points and 19 rebounds, while Jerick Canada (170-PG-89) added 18 points for the champions. Shee Fai Loh (192-G/F-89) responded with 17 points for the Dragons. Justin Knox (205-F-89, college: N.Carolina) had 14 points and 13 boards in the loss.
